Postane is a multi-purpose facility designed to serve individuals and organizations whose work focus on creating social, environmental and urban impact aiming to build a more just city, country, planet. We aim to provide inclusive, stimulating, safe and exciting spaces in which a diverse range of people and groups can come together to work, organise, learn, create, and collaborate.

Located in historical British Post Office building at Galata, Beyoğlu, Postane has a co-work community focused on social and environmental impact, cultural and social events and activity spaces, a cafe, a media and storytelling lab, a fair trade shop and an urban garden on its rooftop.

Postane project is much more than just a building. It is about growing and nurturing a vibrant community of people wanting to change the world - a place that is recognized locally and globally as a cutting-edge hub for collaboration and innovation in civic sector and social entrepreneurship ecosystem.

About The Role:

Postane endeavours to build an inclusive and representative team that embraces diversity. As this is a new initiative we are looking for a team-player with the ability and experience to establish new systems and policies necessary for healthy operations and sustainable growth. Finance and Administration Executive will work closely with Postane’s Director and be accountable for overall building operations and financial management.


Key responsibilities:

• Documenting and following expenditures, payments, and income stream

• Setting up income tracking systems for retail operations of Postane and Introduce cost cutting measures

• Search for investment and employment incentives

• Ensuring fiduciary and regulatory compliance including audit preparation

• Purchasing goods and services

• Making personnel payments including salaries, advances, Sodexo, and transportation allowance, taxes, expenditure payments

• Coordinating Postane’s bank accounts

• Following and coordinating the preparation and signing of contracts, if necessary, for the procurement of goods and services

• Following Postane’s international programs’ budgets, reporting the expenditures to the program team and helping the programs to stay on schedule

• Preparing financial reports for Postane’s programs and operations

• Coordinating with Postane building’s technical coordinator to ensure the smooth daily building operations

• Developing solutions to potential logistical problems related to co- working areas in the Postane building

• Coordinating with Postane’s Human Resources consultant to develop and implement a set of HR and staff policies.

• Budgeting, income/expenditure, and cash flow monitoring

• Ensuring the optimal day-to-day running/operations of the building

• Developing and implementing procurement policies


Experience and requirements:

• Advanced Microsoft Excel or Google Spreadsheets proficiency

• Experience with pre-accounting, bookkeeping and financial management

• Exceptional organisational, multitasking and project management skills

• Minimum 4-5 years experience in a department of accounting, finance and administrative post

• Strong relational and interpersonal skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Turkish

• Understanding of civil society work and networks

• Experience working in the social justice, social impact / innovation, or NGO sector preferable

• Experience working in a start-up environment preferable


We are offering a full-time contract. Compensation is commensurate with experience. We are looking for someone to start immediately.
